Fantastic product.

I’ve considered buying E-Prototype for quite a while now and finally took the plunge thanks to the Black Friday sale. I hesitated before because I have a substantial enough high frequency hearing loss that has resulted in my wearing hearing aids (warning to budding musicians - use ear protection even just practising classical instruments never mind rock instruments. Flare also have superb ear protection products available). I also have narrowing of my ear canals which makes it difficult to find in ear headphones that stay in place. I use my AirPods with the smallest tips and they fall out all the time. My onstage IEMs also come loose regularly. I read a lot of the product reviews before purchasing. The reviews that mention noise when touching the cable are correct but I don’t find that it negatively affects the sound because the solution is simple. Don’t touch the cable. And if using on the move don’t tuck it inside your clothing! As far as these headphones go that is the only negative that needs mentioning as it stands. The package arrived within a few days. The headphones are well presented in a small box and the included protective case is quite solid; it’s more than solid enough to protect the headphones. I opted for the standard tips in case I had problems keeping them in my ears. I need not have worried! Using the smallest tips the headphones fit like a glove. This is the first set of in ear headphones I have EVER had that stay in place and don’t move at all. I’m actually stunned. I’ve tried and bought Apple and Bose in the past. I returned my Bose in ears and exchanged them for over ear headphones. As I said before the Apple AirPods keep falling out but I put up with them so as to have Bluetooth headphones for gym sessions. The E-Prototypes are a game changer for me. Not only do they stay in place but the sound is as good as everyone else says. Taking my hearing loss into consideration I can still hear a crystal clear range of frequencies that I’ve not heard in a long time. As a working musician listening to music is not just a hobby for me. It is essential that I can clearly hear the music I need to learn and in recent years that has become increasingly difficult. Until now that is. The E-Prototypes fit so well that they block out other sounds almost as well as my noise reduction over ears. And the sound quality of the music betters that of my considerably more expensive noise reduction over ears by miles. Look no further, you have found the best. If Flare ever releases a Bluetooth version I’ll buy them in a heartbeat. In my opinion that is the only additional feature that would make these headphones even better. These are far and away the best in ears I have ever had so stop thinking about it and buy them.

Best Ear Buds I've Used

Beautifully extended and controlled low end (obviously depends on a good seal between foam tip and ear canal). Refreshingly free of the upper mid harshness that so many ear buds exhibit (including Flare's own Jet3, though these are better than most in this respect). Good efficiency, easily driven by iPhone or MacBookPro. Stunning when used with Apogee Groove and Audivarna.

Great sounding!

These are top quality earphones and absolutely perfect for critical listening. You will hear clearly and with a definition that rivals the best sounding professional headphones. Very comfortable to wear for hours on end making mixing and mastering studio work much more enjoyable. Perfect to record with also.
At first, I had a problem with the cable making noise when I moved my head around and wrote to the company about this. They replied instantly and gave me helpful tips that made a complete difference and solved my problem. Fantastic service and response. They truly care about the customer and really go all out in perfecting their products.
They have made a customer for life!
