Flare Audio has extended its acclaimed range of ear plugs with the introduction of Sleeep®, a comfortable, light, and unobtrusive way of blocking out unwanted noise, day, or night.

The miniscule earplug is designed with Flare’s ground-breaking technology, which blocks sounds, from the rumble of snoring to the troublesome hum of traffic - something traditional earplugs often fail to do.

Sleeep® builds on advances made by Flare’s previous ranges of ear plugs, Isolate® and Isolate® MiNi, using an engineered metal core to exclude sound, while a comfortable memory foam tip fits snugly to the wearer’s ear, ensuring a comfortable fit for all night use. The addition of dual tips – one at each end - maximise comfort for sleeping on your side.  The audio innovators have been able to reduce the size of the sleeping aid by slimming the metal core by over half from its earlier model, from 5.5mm to 2mm, without losing any of its audio qualities.

Sleeep® works by blocking sound with its metal core rather than absorbing it, as traditional earplugs do. Available in two models, Sleeep® and Sleeep® PRO, the sleeping earplugs come in Natural Aluminium or Silver Pink, and Titanium. The new cores are ergonomically designed to allow greater comfort and a more discrete fit.

Sleeep® comes with three sizes of memory-foam tips (Earfoams®), Extra Small, Small and Medium, with a soft carry pouch.

“After the success of Isolate®, which is ideal for daytime functions, we felt there was a need for a comfortable, unobtrusive and effective sleep aid which people could wear at night,” says Davies Roberts, CEO, and co-founder of Flare. “Having spent many months experimenting and fine tuning the product, we believe Sleeep®, successfully fulfils all those functions and are confident it will be as successful as Isolate®.”

Editor’s Notes:

Noise Blocking Technology

Flare use metal to block (not absorb) sound. Using metal for its density, the solid aluminium or titanium core blocks sound from entering your ears and acts like a shield. Traditional earplugs are typically made from only silicone or memory foam and they tend to attenuate higher frequencies but fail to absorb lower frequencies such as traffic noise or snoring.

    About Flare Audio:

Founded by British inventor Davies Roberts, Flare Audio has spent the last eight years re-inventing audio devices on both a consumer and pro level, drawing praise from music industry luminaries including Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley, Julian Lennon, classic pianist James Rhodes, and producers from Tony Visconti to ‘Flood’, in the process.

Flare's big innovation and mission is to minimise all types of distortion from all its audio designs. Having made a name for itself in the pro audio sector, Flare has now brought its award-winning ‘pure sound’ technology to the listening public.  Using a deep understanding of what was going wrong with the traditional approach used to create loudspeakers and headphones, Flare has developed several patent-pending technologies to create pure audio in any sound-producing device, including:  Space™ enclosure construction technology, Vortex™ pressure abatement technology, Nanoflow™ driver alignment technology and, most recently, JET Technology.

In 2016, Flare Audio revolutionised ear protection with the launch of Isolate®, its first sound-reducing product which used solid metal to block, rather than absorb sound.  The innovation exceeded all expectations by attracting over £2million in crowd funding and has been hugely popular, attracting sales world-wide.

In 2017, Flare Audio Ltd received recognition by the government as a leading UK innovator when it was featured in The Parliamentary Review, which showcases businesses that demonstrate best practice at every level of industry.

Whether it’s working on ways to improve sound quality in loudspeakers and earphones or developing ideas in noise-cancelling products, one thing has remained constant; Flare’s drive to create revolutionary products that tackle known issues and improve our experience of sound.
