How others use Calmer® Filters

Calmer® Filters FAQs

  • We aim to despatch your products as quickly as possible and every effort is made to help the process run smoothly between you placing an order, our processing and handing over to a courier of your choice. See our Shipping and Delivery Times for more info.

  • Calmer are designed to reduce our stress response to noises that annoy us without isolating us from sound. They are gentle but very effective. If you need help deciding which Calmer would best suit you, check out our help guide here.

  • We understand how much tinnitus affects people, so we want to be very clear about what Calmer is designed to do.

Calmer was not designed to help with tinnitus.

Calmer purpose is to reduce distortion in the ears. In turn, this increases sound quality and lowers stress levels.

It came as a huge surprise to us that we started to receive feedback that our original Calmer was helping some users with their tinnitus.

Tinnitus is different for everyone, and we do not suggest buying Calmer solely for this purpose.

If you feel like Calmer is not meeting your needs, we have a 100-day money-back guarantee but we would hope that Calmer stress-reducing properties and sound quality improvement would be of benefit.

Not bad, but could improve

I tried to use the -15 dbs at a concert. While it was great to block out screaming fans, it wasn't so great on hearing quality of the singers. This would be great for loud public places, but I wouldn't recommend for a concert if you want to focus on the music.

Love them

I wear the Flare Calmers around my neck every day and constantly find reasons to pop them in - noisy restaurant, loud party, noisy electronic toys in my job as a pediatric OT. I also use them at contra dances and Irish fiddle gigs, where they help some, but not quite enough. I've also used earplugs in those latter situations, but they distort the sound or take away too much and I can't hear myself talk or play fiddle. The 10dB filters have changed my life. They make dances much more tolerable. And during rehearsals and gigs I can still hear myself, but I'm not driven batty by the guy on my right who is working out tunes at full volume on his new penny whistle. This is seriously life changing because there are gigs or dances I wouldn't attend because of the noise. And now I can go.
