I’ve struggled with hearing conversations for years in busy places like bars, restaurants and clubs, and kept seeing these popup on ads, so thought I’d give them a try.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really expecting them to do much, but they were in the sale so thought I’d take a gamble - and it 100% paid off.

These are like an EQ for your ears! They massively boost the treble, I first tested them listening to music and tv, and was blown away by the difference. Tested them in a bar for the first time today and I could actually hear conversations without my wars tuning into the background noise instead.

Absolute game changer! I love the fact you can use tips from IEMs as as well, as I have tons of different sets (small soft silicons worked best for me).

Do they look ridiculous when you’re wearing them? When you have a skinhead with no hair to hide them, yes! But it’s so worth it to be able to hear people and join in to conversations.

I’m going to try the definition ones next as they’re much more discrete.

But I’d 100% recommend these if you struggle to hear people in noisey environments.

Cupping my ears has been a staple to hearing in a busy situation for years. I have had tinnitus for as long as i can remember and find processing sounds a job and often i just nod like I heard properly. These HD90’s caught my attention and I took the plunge. Early days yet but comments are:
my ear canals are very small so the curved domed earbuds that come with these allowed the device to droop and drop almost immediately. After some helpful advice from Flare I got their “everyday” tips in small size. The profile is more square so it anchors into place well. They are foam too which also helps them stay put. The everyday tips also have a bigger channel so more sound can funnel in I presume.
I have used them a few times and so far I believe they do help. I have used them while watching tv and experiment removing them to see the difference to noticing noises behind me like the dishwasher running. I like them and hope to have more trials of them- maybe in a busy room chatting.

I can’t tell any difference at all. My hand behind an ear gives me better hearing, but these don’t work for me.

Work well once you get the correct fit, which can take a great deal of trial and error to get the right rubber inserts. Also ,be patient with pointing them towards the sound you want to hear. Don't forget these are passive devices, so not amplifying anything, just redirecting the sound you want, as well as cancelling out extraneous background noise. Also, don't expect miracles. Just think of them as a more subtle way of cupping your hands over your ears. Great value for money.

These will not stay in my ears I would not order these again

These are huge and look kind of ridiculous but they do actually work. They are better than the Calmer when you need to hear something better from a specific direction. Great for conversations in noisy environments eg socializing in a pub.

Love this product

I initially bought them for myself as I swear by flare calmers for my Autism and ADHD; however, I couldn't get used to the feel of the earHD's in my ears, so I gave them to my mum, who loves them.

I purchased these earHD90's with the hope they might improve my top end register (treble) whilst listening to the TV. If you cup your hands behind your ears you will find a vast improvement to your hearing if you have diminished top end response. I was sceptical that they would improve things due to the very small area of the horn, I was correct, in fact they actually reduce the level of sound entering the ear canal.

I like the product for they way it works. It seems to dampen the addition buzz (for lack of a better word) on the TV. However, I don't like the way they look. The look funny, and I wouldn't wear them in public.

Useless, didn’t work. Waste of money😡

I wouldn’t want to wear these all day, they are too obvious; however I used them sitting in a meeting and they were very helpful.

Upside:
Incredibly helpful during lectures and similar occasions. Makes the speakers voice very clear and makes it easier to focus on the speaker instead of the clattering of keyboards and the audience.
Downside:
The edges of the plastic (inside of the earpieces) is very sharp and uncomfortable before you get used to it.

The included tips aren’t big enough to seal in my ears, so all they do is reduce the clarity of my TV (bass and treble almost vanish 😳) which is kinda the opposite of what I need 😁.

Still, I’m hopeful, so I’ll try to find bigger tips and test them out in a pub when all my friends are talking, which is the scenario that I find most problematic.

If they work there, then I’ll update my review.

At first I thought these helped funnel sound to help me focus on the subject and not the background but that seemed to wear off quickly and not help at all. I was also disappointed that I spent out on these and that they were then heavily discounted and removed from sale. I feel Flare probably knew these weren’t working out well and should have removed them from sale quickly.

I bought them for my mum, but she didn't like them at all. She needs hearing aids but don't like them either and typically "forgets" them when she needs them the most. I hoped this might help, but alas.

Instead I tried them myself, in a really noisy environment. A restaurant with hard surfaces and stone floor, around 30 conversing people around us. It really helped me to focus on the one I wanted to listen to, but I missed the softness of the calmers.

Nothing special. I don't notice a real difference and hardly ever use them.

Not sure it’s worth the price, they don’t make much difference tbh.

These are great to slightly dampen irritating noises and enhance. I wear them to calm me and also to help me hear music better when played on my phone. I would say these enhance my hearing but are these in no ways hearing aids. So they’re not going to help you there but these are wonderful for what they are ,a noise reducer,for harsh noise and boosts good sounds a little bit . I love them.

I ordered these by mistake [ADHD tax]. Then I found out the included silicone tips didn't fit my ears, so I gave them away to my SIL. They fit her perfect, and she loves them. The *only* reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is because, had I kept them, I would have to order separate silicone tips. Every other ear plug/bud manufacturer I've bought from always fit right out of the box.

I've since placed the correct order for what I meant to get the first time: Definition.

To everyone working customer service at Flare: You are all wonderful people. Please keep it up. You have made me a fan, even if i have to hit up aftermarket replacement parts to make your products work with my dumbo ears. Thank you.

They make watching movies or listening to music more immersion. The sound improves. They look a little weird but I'm not bothered by that

Didn’t make any difference for my hearing

I could not use these. They're a lot larger and stick out a lot further than I thought they would. Maybe it's just the size of my ears but even with the smallest ends on them they didn't seem to fit well and were uncomfortable not to mention it looked like little cones sticking out of my ears.

I can't use this unless my hair is down, they look so odd!

Perfekt um sich am Schreibtisch konzentrieren zu können, während die Geräuschkulisse (fast) komplett verschwindet. Aber auch im persönlichen Gespräch in lauter Umgebung hilft es mir meinen Gesprächspartner "nicht aus den Ohren zu verlieren" nicht mehr, weil die Schallwellen nicht ins Ohr können. Klingt logisch, ja eh, aber der gehörte Effekt hat mich trotzdem erstaunt.

Empfehlenswert für Menschen mit zu viel Aufmerksamkeit, die leicht ablenkt sind, deren Gehör ein wenig nachlässt und Stimmen im Gespräch schlechter wahrnehmen, aber auch super mit ADHS uä oder zum Vögelbeobachten (weil man die Richtung der Schallquelle schneller findet)
