1. HOW DOES ISOLATE® and Snoozers® WORK?
    ISOLATE® and ISOLATE® MiNi and Snoozers® block sounds from entering your ear canals and thereby exciting your ear drums. You will still hear via bone conduction - your skull vibrates from sound sources that are close to you, and the tiny hairs deep inside your ears move. As a result, you can hear, albeit at a much lower volume. Bone conduction works all the time – it’s one of the ways you hear your own voice.
  1. ARE ISOLATE®, ISOLATE® MINI and Snoozers® SOLD IN PAIRS?
    ISOLATE®, ISOLATE® MiNi, and Snoozers®, are sold in pairs only.
  1. DO ISOLATE®, ISOLATE ® MiNi AND Snoozers® COME WITH EARFOAMS® OR DO I HAVE TO ORDER THEM SEPARATELY?
    When you receive your ISOLATE® ear protectors or Snoozers® sleeping aids, you will be provided with a pair of small, medium and large EARFOAMS® (for the standard ISOLATE®), extra small, small and medium EARFOAMS® (for the ISOLATE® MiNi), and two pairs of extra small, small and medium EARFOAMS® (for the Snoozers®) which fit around the barrel of the ISOLATE® or Snoozers®. You use these foams to determine which size fits your ears best. You continue to use these until they wear out.

    It is crucial that the EARFOAMS® are correctly seated on the ISOLATE® ear protectors and/or Snoozers® and that the ISOLATE® ear protectors and/or Snoozers® are correctly fitted in your ears. Please see point 29 for fitting instructions.
  1. HOW DO I KEEP MY EARPLUGS SAFE?
    We provide a small pouch with every set of earplugs. We also sell the Flare Capsule and the Flares Pro hard case. Please look under “Accessories” on our home page.
  1. HOW LONG DO THE EARFOAMS® LAST?
    ISOLATE® EARFOAMS® generally last about 6-8 weeks.

    Snoozers® EARFOAMS® generally last about 2-3 months.

    Naturally, increased use will decrease their life. They can be cleaned by gently rubbing with a slightly damp cloth. Please do not use alcohol.
  1. HOW DO I CLEAN THE EARFOAMS®?
    The EARFOAMS® can be cleaned by rubbing very gently with a slightly damp cloth. Please do not soak them or rinse them in water. Do not use alcohol when cleaning the EARFOAMS® because this will cause them to disintegrate.
  1. DO YOU PROVIDE A CORD TO CONNECT THE TWO ISOLATE® EAR PROTECTORS?
    Yes we do. We also sell capsules and cases to hold your Flare products and keep them safe. Please look under “Accessories” on our home page.
  1. HOW DO YOU INSERT THE ISOLATE® AND Snoozers® INTO YOUR EAR?
    If correctly fitted ISOLATE® ear protectors and Snoozers® sleeping aids don't make a subtle difference, the difference is dramatic. It is crucial that the EARFOAMS® are correctly seated on the ISOLATE® or Snoozers® and that they are correctly fitted in your ears. Please see point 29 for fitting instructions.
  1. ARE ISOLATE® EAR PROTECTORS CERTIFIED?
    ISOLATE® and ISOLATE® MiNi have been extensively tested and CE certified to the specification: BS EN 352-2-2002 –SNR35 (Aluminium) SNR36 (PRO Titanium).

    The CE mark indicates that products certified to this level conform with relevant EU directives regarding health and safety or environmental protection.

  1. ARE ISOLATE® EAR PROTECTORS SUITABLE FOR MOTORBIKE RIDERS?
    Motorcyclists with in helmet intercoms have reported good results in terms of wind, exhaust and engine noise reduction whilst still being able to hear their intercoms when wearing ISOLATE® ear protectors.

    Yes. We have many users who use ISOLATE® ear protectors at the shooting range.
  1. ARE ISOLATE® AND Snoozers® SUITABLE FOR BLOCKING SNORING SOUNDS?
    ISOLATE® and Snoozers® are very effective at blocking snoring sounds.

    Allen Davey, CEO of The British Snoring & Sleep Apnoea Association (BSSAA) describes ISOLATE® ear protectors as "Awesome". 
  1. ARE ISOLATE® AND ISOLATE® MINI SUITABLE FOR BLOCKING OFFICE SOUNDS?
    ISOLATE® and ISOLATE® MiNi are very useful for attenuating office sounds. You will still hear sounds through bone-conduction though – albeit at a very low volume. Bone conduction works all the time – it’s just that generally the amount of signal you get from your ear drums totally overwhelms the bone conduction sounds. 
  1. WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ISOLATE®, ISOLATE® MINI, AND Snoozers®?
    We have three earplug models: the standard ISOLATE®, the ISOLATE® MiNi and Snoozers®. All three are available in Titanium and Aluminium versions.

    The standard ISOLATE® has a diameter of 4mm and is supplied with a pair of small, medium and large EARFOAMS®.

    The ISOLATE® MiNi and Snoozers® have a diameter of 2.5mm.

    The ISOLATE® MiNi is supplied with a pair of extra small, small and medium EARFOAMS®.

    The Snoozers® are supplied with two pairs of extra small, small and medium EARFOAMS®.

    Titanium is a denser metal than aluminium and therefore attenuates better.

    ISOLATE® PRO Titanium is available in natural and mirror finishes.

    The ISOLATE® Aluminium version is available in a range of colours.

    Snoozers® MAX (Titanium) are available in a natural finish only.

    Snoozers® (Aluminium) are available in a natural finish only.

    For those who want ISOLATE® only for sleeping, the Snoozers® may be a better option. They have been especially developed as a sleeping aid. They are dual tipped with newly developed pillow soft EARFOAMS® which are not only more durable, but also much more comfortable to sleep in – especially for side sleepers.

    For those who want them for listening to loud music or audio, we recommend the ISOLATE® Pro (Titanium) or the ISOLATE® MiNi Pro (Titanium), as they offer both the highest level of attenuation (particularly bass range) and the flattest frequency response.

    However, many of our customers also use ISOLATE® ear protectors for sleeping.

  1. ARE ISOLATES® AND Snoozers® SUITABLE FOR TINNITUS SUFFERS?
    As far as we are aware there is no cure for tinnitus. ISOLATE® and Snoozers® will stop damaging sounds from entering your ear canals, which may prevent your tinnitus from worsening.
  1. ARE ISOLATES® SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?
    Although some parents tell us ISOLATE® works very well with children who are sensitive to loud or sudden sounds, we have to make you aware ISOLATE®, ISOLATE® MiNi and Snoozers® have been tested on adults only. Please consult a medical professional before allowing children to use them.
  1. ARE ISOLATE® and Snoozers® BETTER THAN OTHER EARPLUGS?
    ISOLATE®, ISOLATE® MiNi and Snoozers® are superior to silicone, plastic and foam ear plugs, because they attenuate to a much greater level and far more evenly across the full frequency spectrum.
  1. ALLERGIES
    If you are allergic to Titanium or Aluminium then there is a possibility that you will react to the metals when using the product. The coloured coating (where applicable) is a protective oxide layer achieved through an electrolytic process in which the metal forms the anode. There is no nickel in our earplugs.

    Our EARFOAMS® are made of memory foam.
  1. CAN I CHANGE MY ORDER?
    Once an order has been placed it cannot be changed. For this reason, if you want to change the order, please contact us on info@flareaudio.com with your order number to cancel the order, so you can place a new order for the item you require. If your order hasn’t been shipped, we will cancel it and confirm to you that we have cancelled it. Please note we endeavour to ship all orders the next UK business day after the day the order has been placed. 
  1. CAN I RETURN MY ISOLATE® OR Snoozers® IF THEY DON’T FIT ME OR IF I DON’T LIKE THEM?
    If you want to cancel an order you may do so for any reason within 30 days of receiving the products. Please refer to our terms and conditions for full details of our cancellations and returns policy.
  1. RETURNS
    If you are sending a package back from outside the UK or European Union, you will need to fill in the customs declaration form CN22. The CN22 is available from your Post Office or postal service provider.

    As you are sending goods back to us we ask you to fill in the description as "RETURNED GOODS - RELIEF CLAIMED" and write the items down as ZERO value or a value of 1. This is completely legal and will avoid import duties.

    If you fill in the CN22 incorrectly and we are requested to pay a charge, we will refuse your returned items. This may result in additional charges for you. It is therefore important you follow these instructions carefully.
